This time of year means one thing: spring football. ESS is going to give the high school football fan coverage of Florida like no one else. We will be making trips around the state of Florida to give you access to some of the top high school programs. Saturday was the start of spring football and ESS was on the road. We had the opportunity to watch one of the premier programs in Florida: American Heritage Delray. Heritage comes off a season in which they won another state championship. They should be the favorites to once again repeat at Champions. This year’s version of Heritage may end up being their best in school history. This is a loaded football team that has a chance to be very special in 2010. ESS will breakdown American Heritage as they are now led by Head Coach Doug Socha. He came over from University of Buffalo and his job will be to keep this thing rolling. With the players he has at his disposal we feel that Heritage should be one of the favorites to take home the crown.
This year’s version of American Heritage will rely on a very good offensive line. 2011 prospect Robby Nasiff measures in at 6’4", 265 pounds. He still has plenty of room to grow and we expect to see his stock continue to rise. He will team up with Bronson Charles who will most likely play guard this year. He gives them some size up front. Bronson weighs 360 pounds. If he can get down to 320 pounds Bronson will be much more effective. He moves well now for a big guy but get him down to that weight and Bronson could garner more attention from college coaches. His more natural position may be at defensive tackle.
While Heritage is very talented up front it is their skill players that will draw the most attention this fall. They are led by two-way standout Herve Coby. He can play on either side of the football and make an impact. Not only is he super talented so is Greg Bryant. He may end up one of the top five prospects in the class of 2013. Bryant plays both running back and defensive back. He is physically impressive for only entering his sophomore season.
If Heritage was not loaded enough they add prospects like Marcus Davis (QB/Ath-2013), Cameron Posey (WR/DB-2012), Chris Edgerton (CB-2011), Tyler Provo (TE/DE-2013), Jeremy Gaskins (RB-2012) and Nick Lasala (LB-2012) to the mix. There are many other prospects as well that will draw the attention of college coaches not only this spring but well into the fall
